Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel and welcome dinner
On the first day of your trip, our representative from Nepal Climbing Info (Exciting Nepal) will come to take you from the Tribhuvan International Airport and immediately transfer to you your hotel at Kathmandu. In the evening, you will attend a welcome dinner organized by our company along with Nepalese Cultural program.
Day 02: Preparation day for Trekking and Climbing, half day Guided Tour in Kathmandu valley
on this day, you will visit the company and get a chance to interact with your guide and porters. You will discuss your trekking and climbing expedition with one of the representatives. On the same day, you will cover some of the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley. Seven out of ten World Heritage Sites lies in Kathmandu itself.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Pokhara by Bus
Driving Duration: 6-7 Hours
Your trip officially starts from this day. Today, you will leave Kathmandu and drive towards Pokhara in a bus following the Trisuli River bed. Following the greenery and mid hills, you will reach Pokhara, which is the popular tourist spot in Nepal. You will take a short sightseeing tour at Pokhara with your guide stay at one of the hotels overnight.
Day 04: Flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, trek to Kagbeni (2810m)
Highest Altitude: 2810 meters
Trekking Duration: 2-3 hours
Early in the morning, you will take a flight to Jomsom from Pokhara. After reaching Jomsom, you will have a short trek towards Lubra passing through the trails over the Kali Gandaki river. You will get a chance to visit Bon Po Monastery at Lubra and continue trekking towards Eklebhatti.
After walking for about an hour from Eklebhatti, you will reach Kagbeni. At Kagbeni, you will explore the red painted Gompa which is believed to have existed for about 1000 years. You will stay overnight at Kagbeni.
Day 05: Kagbeni trek to Tsaile ( 3100 m)
Highest Altitude: 3100 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
From Kagbeni, you will walk towards Tangbe Village walking along some of the beautiful villages, Buddhists Chortens, and Mani Walls. On walking further, you will reach Chhusang Village, where you will take a break to have your lunch. Then you will continue walking over the Kali Gandaki river where you will come across sixteen caves above the tunnel of Kali Gandaki.
From this, you will take a steep to ascend and reach Tsaile. Tsaile is a small village where you will have a magnificent view of the Nilgiri Himal and Kali Gandaki River. Overnight at Tsaile.
Day 06: Tsaile to Geling (3570m)
Highest Altitude: 3570 meters
Trekking Duration: 6-7 hours
On this day, you will trek through unstable trails and reach a small pass. After crossing the pass, you will trek towards Samar Village where you will have your lunch. You will walk forth and explore the Chungsi Cave Monastery.
After trekking for two hours from the Cave monastery, you will take a steep to ascend and reach a monastery where Guru Padmasambhava meditated in the 8th Century. On moving further, you will reach Syangmonchen Village linking you to Gelling Village. On reaching Geling, you will come across two Gompas and a big Chorten. Overnight at Geiling.
Day 07: Geling trek to Tsarang (3560m)
Highest Altitude: 3560 meters
Trekking Duration: 6-7 Hours
On this day, you will walk into the center of Mustang passing Zaite Village. You will also cross the Nyi La Pass at an altitude of 4020 meters and take a steep downhill trail to Ghami village. You will walk along the edge of small Khola and come across the longest Mani Wall in the Mustang region.
You will march towards a long steep uphill reaching to a small pass and descend towards Tsarang Village. You will come across different Chortens, old Palaces, and Gompas around the village. Overnight at Tsarang.
Day 08: Tsarang trek to Lo-Manthang (3840m)
Highest Altitude: 4230 meters
Trekking Duration: 7-8 hours
You will have two options to reach Lo Manthang on this day. Following the lower trail will make you reach the destination in about 4-5 hours whereas it will take around 7-8 hours if you follow the Upper trekking trail. It is recommended that you follow the Upper trail as it will allow you to explore the Lo Gyakar Ghar Gompa which is the oldest Gompa in the Upper Mustang.
After visisting the monastery, you will walk along and cross the Chogo La Pass which is the highest point of this trek. On descending, you will reach the Lo Manthang, the hidden Kingdom of Upper Mustang. Lo Manthang is the walled capital kingdom of Lo. overnight at Lo Manthang.
Day 09: Acclimatization Day
On this acclimatization day, you will have two options to explore the region of Lo Manthang. You can either visit Chhoser village that will take you around 7-8 hours or hike up to the Namgyal monastery which will take you around 2-3 hours.
Both of the hikes are for acclimatization purposes and offers you with great scenic views and cave monasteries. Later in the day, you will explore Lo Mantang and stay overnight there.
Day 10: Lho-Manthang trek to Yara (3650m)
Highest Altitude: 3900 meters
Trekking Duration: 6-7 Hours
On this day, you will trek towards Dhi Village from Lo Manthang which will take you around 4 hours. You will trek downwards to a small stream and then climb up to reach Yara Village. You will come across different stone walls and cave monasteries and cross a suspension bridge to reach Yara village. Overnight at Yara.
Day 11: Yara trek to Luri Gompa (4000m)
Highest Altitude: 4005 meters
Trekking Duration: 3-4 hours
On this day, you will have a short trek to Luri Gompa. You will be visiting two monasteries on this day. You will take a steep ascend which will take you to Luri Cave Monastery at 4005 meters, which is the oldest and famous cave monastery in the Mustang region. The monastery was constructed in the 15th century. Inside the cave, you will come across different texts, images, statues of Deities and a big old Chorten.
After visiting the Luri Cave Monastery, you will visit the monastery that lies just below the Luri Cave monastery. You will overnight at Luri.
Day 12: Luri Gompa trek to Ghuma Tanthi (4600m)
Highest Altitude: 4940 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
After exploring different monasteries at Luri, you will descend down through a Gorge at Ghuma Tanthi. You will walk through different pastures and after reaching at an altitude of 4780 meters, you will have a spectacular view of Mount Dhaulagiri. You will continue your trek climbing up to a pass at 4940 meters. From there, you will descend towards Ghuma Tanthi.
Guma Tanthi is a place that is built for Buddhist Pilgrims taking their way to the sacred Damodar Kunda lakes. Overnight you will stay at Ghuma Tanthi.
Day 13: Ghuma Tanthi trek to Namta Khola (4890m)
Highest Altitude: 5490 meters
Trekking Duration: 7-8 Hours
On this day, the trekking trails are divided into four sections. On the first part of the trek, you will cross a pass 5320 meters where you will have a great view of Mount Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. On the second part, you will descend down to reach Parche Khola. In the third section of your trek, you will climb uphill to a long steep slope.
On the fourth portion of the trek, you will cross a pass at 5490 meters. From there, you will have clearer views of Damodar Himal and Mount Dhaulagiri. You will get a chance to explore the different attractions of Damodar Kunda and move towards Namta Khola.
Overnight at Namta Khola.
Day 14: Namta Khola trek to Saribung Base Camp (4950m)
Highest altitude: 4950 meters
Trekking Duration: 6-7 Hours
You will be walking along the Tibetan Plateau on this day. You will walk through a high altitude route and rough landscape before you reach the Saribung Base Camp. You may not find teahouses and lodges along the route to the Base Camp. so you will be carrying your own lunch on this day. The trek to Saribung Base Camp is quite challenging. So, you need to take some extra caution during the journey.
Overnight at Saribung Base Camp.
Day 15: Acclimatization Day
After this day, you will have to trek to a higher altitude. So, this day for acclimatization purpose. You can rest or take a short hike to explore the surrounding hills and natural beauty of the Saribung Base Camp. The acclimatization day will help you to prepare for the upcoming journey.
Overnight at Saribung Base Camp.
Day 16: Saribung Base Camp – Camp I (5730m)
Highest Altitude: 5730 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
On this day, you will have your breakfast early in the morning and trek towards Camp I. you will have to walk through rocks and snow on this day. Walking along the hard snowy trails may be quite challenging. You will be surrounded by the views of different mountains such as Khumjunggar Himal and Damodar Himal. You will take a short lunch break before reaching Camp I. After reaching Camp I, you will stay overnight there.
Day 17: Camp I to Saribung Peak (6346m). Overnight at Base Camp
Highest Altitude: 6346 meters
Trekking Duration: 8-9 hours
Today, you will climb the Saribung Peak, which is the ultimate and highest point of your trip. Early in the morning, you will climb towards the Saribung Peak following a rocky terrain. On reaching the summit of the peak, it will offer you with magnificent views of surrounding peaks. You will get to witness Chhib Himal, Kharsang Peak, etc from the top of the Saribung Peak.
After exploring the beautiful mountain views, you will descend towards Saribung Base Camp and stay overnight there.
Day 18: Base Camp to Saribung Pass( 6042m) to Nagoru (4400m)
Highest Point: 6042 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
You will trek down to Nagoru on this day via Saribung Pass. You will follow the trails covered with snow and take a break to have your lunch. You will walk through different uphills and downhills until you reach Nagoro. Overnight you will stay at Nagoru.
Day 19: Nogoru to Phu Gaon ( 4080 m)
Altitude: 4080 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
From Nogoru, you will walk through the Tibetan plateau along with the views of the barren valley to reach Phu Gaon. Phu Gaon is a valley where you will get a chance to explore the unique culture, diversity and religious activities of the people living in the area such as Gurung, Lama, and Ghale.
Along with this, you will have some time to explore the Tashi Lakhang Monastery constructed by Karmapa Rinpoche. This monastery is listed as one of the World’s greatest monastery. Surrounding yourself with the snowy peaks of the reach, you will reach Phu Gaon and stay overnight there.
Day 20: Phu Gaon to Meta (3560m)
Altitude: 3560 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
On this day, you will descend down and cross the Kyang Pass through a narrow valley along the trail. You will then come across the Khampa settlements and explore places such as Jhunam, Chyakhu, and Kyang. On walking further, you will reach Meta that is surrounded by Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
Day 21: Meta trek to Koto (2600m)
Altitude: 2600 meters
Trekking Duration: 6-7 hours
You will trek through steep downward trails to reach Koto on this day. You will walk through pine forests and small streams along the trails. You will come across many suspension bridges before you reach Koto. after six to 7 hours of walking, you will reach Koto. overnight at Koto.
Day 22: Koto trek to Dharapani (1860m)
Altitude: 1860 meters
Trekkking Duration: 5-6 hours
You will walk through pine forests in order to reach Timang Village. Along the way, you will have beautiful views of Mount Manaslu along with other snowy peaks. From the village, you will trek down to Danque following the trail to Dharapani. You will stay overnight at Dharapani.
Day 23: Dharapani trek to Jagat (1300m)
Altitude: 1300 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
On this day, you will follow the Marsyangdi river and cross different suspension bridges to reach Jagat. On walking further you will reach Kotro and then to Tal Village. From Tal village, you will follow a rocky path and walk through a dense forest to reach Chamje. From Chamje, you will reach Jagat village.
Overnight at Jagat.
Day 24: Jagat trek to Bhulbhule (840m)
Altitude: 840 meters
Trekking Duration: 5-6 hours
You will walk through a rocky trail on this day to reach Syange. Along the way to Syange, you will come across beautiful waterfalls. You will follow the Maryangdi river until you reach Bhulbhule. Your trekking journey ends after you reach Bhulbhule.
Day 25: Bhulbhule to Kathmandu by bus and transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu
Driving Duration: 6-7 hours
N this day, you will take a bus following Besi Sahar to reach Kathmandu. You will pass through different cultivated terraces, forests and green hills along the way. You will have a scenic drive to Kathmandu viewing mountains such as Manaslu, Ganesh and Annapurna range in the north.
After reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel where you will have your dinner and stay overnight.
Day 26: Final Departure
Today is the last day of your trip to Saribung Peak Climbing. Our representative from Nepal Climbing Info (Exciting Nepal) will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport, three hours before the scheduled flight for the final goodbye.
